CANDACE BUSHNELL: TRUE TALES OF SEX, SUCCESS AND SEX AND THE CITY

The “real” Carrie Bradshaw will hit the South Coast Repertory stage to tell all of her wild stories about life in New York City, writing “Sex and the City,” and the world of fashion. Bushnell made her mark as a best-selling novelist and creator of the hit TV series. Her one woman show includes a South Coast Plaza shopping experience on site before the curtain, themed cocktails, fashionable photo opportunities, and a VIP reception. SHELLEY CONDUCTS AMERICA AT 250
Artistic and music director designate Alexander Shelley and pianist Conrad Tao have developed a powerful program to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States. Experience the West Coast premiere of Raven Chacon’s “Inscription II” and Peter Boyer’s “American Mosaic.” The latter features stunning visuals by photographer Joe Sohm and a live narrator reciting iconic quotes from American history. NEWPORT BEACH JAZZ FESTIVAL

This year’s festival features the largest lineup it’s ever had with 15 performers across three days and two stages. The featured artists include beloved jazz legends The Isley Brothers, trumpeter Rick Braun, soul singer Sy Smith, and many more. Hosted on the Back Bay Golf Course, the festival has a beautiful view of the water. “THE SOUND OF MUSIC”

The timeless musical, which was adapted into the popular 1965 film starring Julie Andrews, features memorable songs such as “Do-Re-Mi,” “Edelweiss,” “Sixteen Going on Seventeen,” and “My Favorite Things.” Watch Captain von Trapp and Maria’s heartwarming love story along with universal themes of resilience and the power of music.
