Three OC baseball teams earn top seeds in CIF Southern California regionals

Orange County high school baseball teams are among those selected to compete in the CIF Southern California Regional championships beginning Tuesday at host sites, according to CIF state officials.

CIF Southern Section champions JSerra, Tesoro and Estancia earned top seeds in the regional. Higher seeded teams will be home teams throughout the regional.

The first round is Tuesday, second round is Thursday and the finals are Saturday. All the games are scheduled for 4 p.m.

In Division I, CIF Division 1 champion JSerra is seeded first and will host No. 8 Granite Hills Tuesday. Huntington Beach is seeded sixth and plays at No. 3 La Costa Canyon Tuesday. Villa Park is seventh and plays at No. 2 Stockdale.

In Division III, Newport Harbor is seeded fifth and plays at No. 4 El Camino Real Tuesday.

Tesoro, the CIF Division 2 champion, is seeded first in Division IV and hosts No. 8 Mission Bay while No. 2 Fullerton, the CIF Division 4 runner-up, hosts No. 7 Mar Vista.

In Division V, Estancia, the CIF Division 6 champion, is seeded first and hosts No. 8 Mendez Tuesday. Anaheim, the Division 6 runner-up, is seeded second and hosts No. 7 Hueneme Tuesday at Dee Field Field.
