‘The Second City Goes Coastal’ at VEA Newport Beach


Against the backdrop of VEA Newport Beach’s scenic, open-air coastal venue, The Second City will be performing a 60-minute, high-energy improv show on Friday, June 12, 2026, featuring short-form improv games, audience interaction moments, and select scenes from The Second City’s sketch comedy archives. Doors will open at 5:45 p.m. and the show begins at 6:45 p.m.

Founded in 1959, The Second City is a world-renowned comedy institution that has hosted some of the most iconic comedians, from Tina Fey and Bill Murray to Amy Poehler and Stephen Colbert. This will be the enterprise’s first show in Orange County, aimed at showcasing its vibrant West Coast community and providing an elevated take on live improv.

The cast will consist of Adam Peacock, Allison Price, Andy Assaf, Braxton Brooks, and Edgar Blackmon, along with the support of Stage Manager Katie Hildreth and Musical Director Jesse Case. Those unable to attend the June performance will have another opportunity to experience The Second City at VEA Newport Beach, with a return engagement already scheduled for Sept. 4, 2026. Tickets for the June show are on sale now via eventbrite.com, starting at $50 for General Admission and up to $450 for a VIP table of six.
