WISEPlace, the only Orange County-based nonprofit leading the effort to end homelessness for unaccompanied women, is proudly recognizing the contributions of its board of directors—its leaders of change.
Carol Khan-Hotaki currently serves as fund development chair and is celebrating more than five years on the WISEPlace Board. Her contributions include compassionate volunteerism and advocacy for those lacking the support system of a spouse, significant other, or children. Her years of wealth management experience at Ascent Private Capital Management of U.S. Bank ensure sound financial stewardship and growth as the organization grows and rebuilds lives in the process.

Erin Giglia has served on the Board since 2024 and has been unwavering in her advocacy for supporting the most vulnerable communities throughout Orange County. She practiced law for eight years before starting Montage Legal Group, a freelance attorney company, in 2009. Montage Legal has been named the National Philanthropy Day Small Business of the Year for its charitable leadership. An accomplished entrepreneur in the legal sector, Giglia is a frequent public speaker for numerous Bar Associations and private entities.

Byron Culp has served on the Board since May 2022, tirelessly championing unaccompanied women experiencing homelessness through his professional network, fundraising efforts, and personal advocacy. He is the director of business development at Wright Ford Young & Co. CPAs, an accounting firm that donates 1% of its gross revenues to local charities. Grounded in strong community, family ties, and faith, Culp consistently exemplifies WISEPlace’s mission, making him a formidable leader of change.
WISEPlace remains committed to transforming lives and providing safe, stable housing for the most vulnerable in Orange County. In 2025, WISEPlace’s first permanent supportive housing expansion was the only project in the County to have housing vouchers earmarked for survivors earning no more than 30% of the Area Median Income (AMI).
