Mike Tyson and Floyd Mayweather Jr. agree to 2026 exhibition fight

Two boxing legends are set to square off in the ring.

Mike Tyson and Floyd Mayweather Jr. have agreed to fight in an exhibition bout to take place in the spring of 2026. Both men have signed with CSI Sports/ Fight Sports for the event.

“When CSI came to me about stepping in the ring with Floyd Mayweather,” said Tyson. “I thought, ‘No way this happens,’ but Floyd said yes. This fight is something neither the world nor I ever thought would or could happen. However, boxing has entered a new era of the unpredictable—and this fight is as unpredictable as it gets. I still can’t believe Floyd wants to really do this. It’s going to be detrimental to his health, but he wants to do it, so it’s signed and it’s happening!”

The 48-year-old Mayweather retired from boxing in 2017 with an undefeated record of 50-0. However, he would still compete in exhibition matches.

“I’ve been doing this for 30 years and there hasn’t been a single fighter that can tarnish my legacy,” said Mayweather. “You already know that if I am going to do something, it’s going to be big and it’s going to be legendary. I’m the best in the business of boxing. This exhibition will give the fans what they want.”

Iron Mike, regarded as one of the greatest heavyweight boxers of all time, famously had his last fight in November 2024 against Jake Paul. The 59-year-old took on the 28-year-old in a match that was streamed live on Netflix. The fight earned the title of the most streamed sporting event in history.

The date and location of the Tyson-Mayweather fight has yet to be determined.
