March 17, 2023

Burglary Report – 6:03 a.m. – 5300 block of La Palma Ave. – A male subject was reportedly attempting to yank the front doors open, and employees were holding them closed.
Counseling – 6:24 p.m. – 8000 block of Andre Ln. – The reporting party received a scam phone call from a subject who he believed was his nephew asking for money. The unknown subject advised that he would be there in one hour. The reporting party confirmed that the subject was not his nephew, who lives out-of-state.

March 18, 2023

Found Property – 7:52 a.m. – 7821 Walker St. (Central Park) – A blue bike was found unattended. A found property report was taken.
Disturbance (Subject) – 12:50 p.m. – 5100 block of Dumaine Dr. – The caller’s neighbor was reportedly throwing items and had been outside naked earlier and was possibly under the influence. When police arrived, the subject was not naked. The subject had thrown a couple beer cans in the street and was made to clean them up.
Fire – 2:27 p.m. – La Palma/Walker – OCFA was en route to a vehicle on fire. The fire was extinguished. The vehicle was towed at the owner’s request.

March 19, 2023

Traffic Stop – 12:13 a.m. – Watson/Crescent – During a traffic stop, police detained a subject for possession of ammunition. The subject was arrested for being a prohibited person in possession of ammunition, obstruction, and possession of unlawful paraphernalia.
Fire – 7:17 p.m. – 5300 block of Orangethorpe Ave. – A fire was reported in the location near 91 Freeway and Orangethorpe. OCFA responded and the fire was extinguished. It was determined that the fire occurred in the California Highway Patrol’s jurisdiction.
Counseling – 7:33 p.m. – 7400 block of Brian Ln. – The reporting party advised that he had been threatened by a former landlord, who had also brandished a knife and firearm at the reporting party. It was determined that the incident occurred in Buena Park’s jurisdiction two years ago, that it had been reported to the Buena Park Police Department at that time, and that there was no new crime at this time. A more recent text message was determined to be not criminal.

March 20, 2023

Medical Aid – 10:35 a.m. – 5700 block of Fresca Dr. – An employee was reportedly hit by a forklift in the warehouse. She was knocked down and was laying on the ground with unknown injuries. Incident handled by OCFA, and Cal OSHA was advised. The victim was transported to the hospital by ambulance.
Suspicious Circumstances – 2:25 p.m. – 8000 block of Redford Ln. – The reporting party’s mother reportedly entered the grandmother’s house without permission. Police contacted the grandmother and determined that there was no crime at this time. The reporting party was counseled and she advised that she would be pursuing a restraining order against the mother.

March 21, 2023

Lost/Stolen Property – 3:11 p.m. – 7700 block of Valley View St. – A passport was reportedly lost in the mail after it was sent to San Francisco in August of 2022. Report taken.
Transient – 5:58 p.m. – Centerpointe Dr. – A transient was reportedly refusing to leave after security asked the subject to do so multiple times. Security advised that they wanted the subject off the property and that they would sign a private person’s arrest (PPA). Police made contact with both parties and the PPA was signed. The subject was arrested for trespassing and possession of burglary tools.

March 22, 2023

Area Check – 1:00 p.m. – Crescent/Watson – Police were requested to check the area for a loose electrical wire that was now hanging in a tree. The loose wire was located and westbound traffic was closed at the location. School staff was advised to keep juveniles away from the area. Southern California Edison was notified and responded. They confirmed that it was a telephone/communications wire and there was no need for police assistance.
Illegally Parked Vehicle – 6:50 p.m. – Sharon/Jennifer – A vehicle, possibly with a subject living in it, was parked blocking the fire hydrant. Police contacted the subject and served two orders. Report taken.

March 23, 2023

Transient – 10:20 a.m. – 7800 block of Valley View St. – A transient was reportedly sleeping and eating in front of the business. Party advised and will comply.
Suspicious Circumstances – 1:42 p.m. – 5900 block of La Palma Ave. – A subject was reportedly attempting to enter the closed business. Police contacted a subject matching the description given to them. No entry was made and no crime at this time. A 53-year-old subject was arrested for felony parole violation. The subject was booked at Orange County Jail (OCJ).
