March 19, 2023

Overdose – 7:42 a.m. – Valley View/Gateway – The caller reported his friend was overdosing on fentanyl. Officers administered Narcan and Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) responded. Subject refused any further medical treatment and left the area.
Overdose – 11:15 a.m. – Undisclosed location – The caller reported that her friend locked himself in the restroom at the park.  Once inside and alone he smoked, and began to overdose, on fentanyl. OCFA had to force entry to the bathroom, damaging the exterior door. The subject was transported to a local hospital for further treatment. Public Works was notified of the damage to the door and report taken. 
Stolen Vehicle – 1:33 p.m. – Knott/Syracuse – From a license plate reader hit in another city, police located the stolen vehicle driving within the city of Cypress.  After a felony stop, a subject was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle. 

March 20, 2023

Burglary – 6:39 a.m. – 4900 block of Katella Ave. – At approximately 6:45 p.m. on Sunday, an unknown suspect broke into the locker the victim used and stole his credit cards, later charging $13,000.
Assist Outside Agency – 12:26 p.m. – 4000 block of Via Ingresso – From a check the welfare call, a subject was found unresponsive and OCFA forced entry into the residence. The subject was recovering from surgery at home and had not been heard from by his friend, who alerted the authorities. The subject was transported for medical treatment. A window was damaged when OCFA made entry and a damage report was taken.  Due to no one being able to assume responsibility for the subject’s residence, Public Works responded to board up the window.

March 21, 2023

Property Damage – 6:47 a.m. – 8300 block of Denni St. – Due to the weather, a City-owned tree branch broke away from the tree and fell on a citizen’s vehicle, smashing the rear window.  Public Works responded to remove the downed tree limb and a property damage report was taken. 
Burglary – 7:35 a.m. – 5000 block of Ball Rd. – At approximately 10:50 p.m. on Monday, two males in black SUV cut the lock on the Blue Rhino propane tank storage and stole 9 propane tanks. They were last seen fleeing westbound Ball Road.    
Burglary – 9:50 a.m. – 4500 block of Lincoln Ave. – Sometime overnight, an unknown suspect entered the business via a door lock pry and stole $50 in change. 

March 22, 2023

Traffic Stop – 1:22 a.m. – 5000 block of Lincoln Ave. – From a traffic stop, a subject on parole was arrested for possession of a controlled substance.  Officers went to the location where the subject was the registered guest and conducted a parole compliance check.  At the room Officers contacted a female subject and arrested her for possession of methamphetamine and paraphernalia. Both were cited and released in the field.
Porch Piracy – 12:02 p.m. – 10300 block of Lorraine – At 11:45 a.m., a male suspect stole $100 worth of trading cards from the victim’s mailbox.  The suspect was last seen entering a newer gray or black SUV. 

March 23, 2023

Vehicle Burglary – 6:51 a.m. – 4900 block of Katella Ave. – Between 03/22/23 at 7:45 p.m. and today at 6:45 a.m., an unknown suspect smashed the rear window to the victim’s vehicle and stole a suitcase and work testing equipment belonging to the victim’s employer.
Disturbance (Neighbor) – 1:18 p.m. – 10300 block of Aurelia Ave. – From a call for service of an ongoing neighbor dispute over wind chimes and video surveillance which captured a neighbor destroying a wind chime, a subject was arrested for felony vandalism (value $432). He was transported to Orange County Jail (OCJ) for booking.
Arrest – 3:13 p.m. – 5200 block of Orange Ave. – While attempting to obtain safekeeping property from a prior arrest, a subject was arrested for a no-bail warrant and being in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. He was cited on the new charges and taken to OCJ for the warrant.

March 24, 2023

Vehicle Burglary – 9:44 a.m. – 5800 block of Katella Ave. – Between 9:30 p.m. and 8:45 a.m., an unknown suspect smashed the front passenger window to the victim’s vehicle and stole clothing items.
Petty Theft – 8:02 p.m. – 6800 block of Katella Ave. – A male subject stole approximately $200 worth of
items and fled on his mountain bike towards Knott Ave.

March 25, 2023

Traffic Stop – 4:38 a.m. – 5800 block of Lincoln Ave. – From a traffic stop, a male subject was arrested for providing a false name, possession of narcotics, and a probation hold. A female subject was also arrested for being unlicensed.  She was cited and released in the field and the male subject was transported to OCJ.
Commercial Burglary – 8:35 a.m. – 6300 block of Lincoln Ave. – At 6:00 a.m., two unknown suspects smashed the front window and attempted to steal the ATM inside the business. The alarm did not activate and suspects were captured on surveillance. The suspect vehicle was captured with broken driver’s side passenger windows and the license plate covered.
