The award-winning It’s Magic! showcase enthralls and entrances fans at the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts (CCPA) on Sunday, May 21, 3:00 PM. It’s “the liveliest lineup of magic acts this side of Las Vegas!” hailed the Los Angeles Times. Purchase tickets, which start from $55, at the CCPA Ticket Office, cerritoscenter.com, or by calling (562) 916-8500.
The longest-running magic production in the country, IT’S MAGIC! brings to the stage the biggest stars in magic and variety. With a cast of award-winning performers from around the world – including Hollywood’s Magic Castle and Las Vegas – the extravaganza leaves audiences speechless and spellbound with sleight-of-hand illusions, stage tricks, and comedy and variety acts. The CCPA lineup features master magicians Alex Ramon, Nick Diffatte, Victor & Diamond, Naathan Phan, and David Charvet in a special tribute to Harry Blackstone Jr.
The New York Times called ALEX RAMON’s magic act “mystifying.” The Los Angeles Times concurred, describing the magician’s tricks as “mind-bending.” Ramon, who has headlined his own show, Illusion Fusion, in South Lake Tahoe, is one of only 20 recipients of the prestigious Milbourne Christopher “Illusionist Award.” At age 18, he won the coveted Lance Burton Award and was named “National Stage Magic Champion” by the World Magic Seminar in Las Vegas. Ramon has worked with Barnum & Bailey circus and has appeared on The Greatest Show on Earth; Penn & Teller: Fool Us; and The View.
NICK DIFFATTE is quickly becoming one of the most in-demand comedians today with his blend of dry humor, wry wit, and incredible skills. Diffate has appeared on The Late Late Show on CBS and on the cover of Genii and Vanish magazines. Around the Town Chicago praised: “What makes his magic act distinctive is the way he injects humor and self-effacement into his performance of stage magic. His interweaving of comedy into his acts of deception is fluid and well-timed. His premises are clever; his jokes are appealing; his shtick is funny.”
Known for putting on a fun, family-friendly show, the husband-and-wife team VICTOR DIAMOND has brought its dynamic show around the world, garnering a slew of awards, including the “Best Act for Television” by NHK, the Japanese Broadcasting Association.
NAATHAN PHAN is the ultimate all-around showman, with Broadway World hailing his “Robin Williams-paced wit.” The award-winning entertainer wears many hats, wowing audiences around the globe with his mind-blowing magic tricks, stand-up shenanigans, and impressive Opera vocals. He was featured on America’s Got Talent and Penn and Teller: Fool Us and has appeared in the film Superbad.
A recipient of the Literary Fellowship from the Academy of Magical Arts at the Magic Castle in Hollywood, DAVID CHARVET pays tribute to the late legendary magician Harry Blackstone Jr. Charvet has authored several books, including biographies of Alexander, Willard the Wizard, and Emil Jarrow.
