March 21, 2022

Vehicle Burglary – 4:09 p.m. – 6100 block of Stonehaven – Sometime Saturday evening, an unknown suspect entered the victim’s vehicle via unknown means, and stole ice skates, a skateboard, and sunglasses.
Vehicle Theft – 8:43 p.m. – 5500 block of Orange Ave. – The victim parked his white 2015 Jeep Compass in front of his residence on 3-19-22 at approximately 8 a.m. The victim returned today, at the time of call, and noticed his vehicle had been stolen. There was no suspect information and no video surveillance. The vehicle was entered into the Stolen Vehicle System. A few hours later, Placentia Police Department located the vehicle unoccupied and it was recovered.

March 22, 2022

Burglary – 1:27 a.m. – 11500 block of Knott Ave. – The owner of the business received a video surveillance alert on his cell phone. When he checked the surveillance cameras he noticed two subjects inside the business. Prior to notifying Cypress PD, the owner activated an audible alarm from his phone and told the suspects to leave. When officers arrived the suspects were no longer present. There was no loss to the business. The point of entry was the front door with a malfunctioning locking mechanism.
Vehicle Burglary – 8:08 a.m. – 6800 block of Orangewood Ave. – Sometime overnight, an unknown suspect gained entry into the victim’s vehicle by smashing the passenger side rear window. The loss was jumper cables and keys.
Unlawful Dumping – 9:25 p.m. – Holder/Ferne – An unknown suspect dumped a large amount of trash and household items in the intersection. Public Works responded for removal.

March 23, 2022

Assault/Battery – 1:35 a.m. – 9100 block of Valley View St. – The victim stated a suspect assaulted him. The victim responded to a hospital for injuries sustained to his head and face. Officers were unable to contact the suspect.
Assist Other Agency – 7:55 p.m. – Orange/Holder – Officers assisted Anaheim PD withtraffic control for a structure fire.

March 24, 2022

Assist Other Agency – 9:24 a.m. – 226th/Juan (Buena Park) – Officers were in pursuit of a stolen vehicle from the area of Knott and Ball, and an unmarked police vehicle was struck by the suspect. The pursuit went through Cypress and terminated at the listed address. Cypress Police Department was not involved in the pursuit. Three CYPD units assisted with perimeter positions when a subject who fled on foot into a residence. Ultimately, the suspect surrendered during announcements was taken into custody.
Vehicle Burglary – 9:59 a.m. – 6900 block of Ellesmere Wy. – Overnight, an unknown suspect smashed the rear window of the victim’s vehicle and stole a backpack containing clothes.

March 25, 2022

Grand Theft – 7:27 a.m. – 5500 block of Belle Ave. – Overnight, an unknown suspect stole the tailgate from the victim’s silver Toyota Tacoma. There was no suspect information or surveillance.
Felony Vandalism – 8:57 a.m. – 4000 block of Ball Rd. – A subject got into an argument with staff, broke their alarm system, and threw objects at the employees. He left on foot and officers were unable to locate him. The suspect was described as a black male in his 20-30s with thin build and wearing a blue plaid shirt, gray vest, tan hat, and blue jeans. He also had a noticeable scar on the right side of his face.
Arrest – 10:38 a.m. – 9800 block of Walker St. – From a call for service of a subject using a fake identification card to withdraw money, police arrested a male subject for a variety of felony forgery charges. He was transported and booked at Orange County Jail.
Arrest – 6:41 p.m. – 10100 block of Valley View St. – From a call for service, Officers arrested a male subject for robbery after he stole the tip jar and attempted to punch an employee in the process. The subject fled on foot prior to our arrival and officers located him in the area of the 9800 block of Lido Way. He was absentee booked and transported to OCJ.

March 26, 2022

Trespassing – 9:41 a.m. – 5900 block of Corporate Ave. – From a call for service of a transient refusing the leave, police arrested a male subject for trespassing. He was transported to OCJ for booking due to the likelihood of the crime recurring.
Traffic Stop – 3:01 p.m. – 6200 block of Lincoln Ave. – From a traffic stop, police arrested a male subject for an outstanding warrant. He was cited and released in the field.

March 27, 2022

Traffic Stop – 1:43 a.m. – Cerritos/Bloomfield – From a traffic stop, police arrested a male subject for DUI. He was unable to complete the breath test and refused a blood test. A McNeely warrant was obtained. He was absentee booked and transported to OCJ.
Bike Stop – 10:33 p.m. – Cerritos/Valley View – From a bicycle stop, police arrested a male subject for possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. The subject was cited and released in the field.
