IRVINE 8, SEGERSTROM 4: The Vaqueros won the first game of the day at the Great Park.
Irvine was led offensively by Owen Featherston (3 for 5, two RBI), Evan Tamayo (3 for 4, two RBI, three runs scored and a walk) and Nate Valencia (1 for 4, two runs scored and a walk).
“Jack Flanagan was strong starting for us on the mound (2 1/3 innings, one earned run, five strikeouts),” said Irvine Coach Gabriel Cota. “Ethan Kim came on in relief and was solid with 3 2/3 innings pitched, two earned runs and five strikeouts. Roshan Patel threw the last inning giving up one hit.”
BREA OLINDA 5, IRVINE 3: The Wildcats defeated the Vaqueros in a makeup game Tuesday at Irvine. Irvine was led offensively by Smith Spivey (1 for 2, double, RBI), Nico Macalino (1 for 3, RBI) and Drake Brito (1 for 2, run scored).
“Adam Valencia was solid on the mound going five innings giving up four hits, three earned runs and six strikeouts,” Cota said.
Drake Brito, took the loss for Irvine.
ESPERANZA 4, NORTHVIEW 1: The Aztecs were led by Jacob Petropulos who was 3 for 4 with two RBI and winning pitcher Jacob Fruneaux, who had six strikeouts in six innings. Dylan Jones earned the save for the Aztecs.
NATIONAL CLASSIC
SERVITE 4, MIRA COSTA 0: The Friars won the tournament game Tuesday. Toby Kwon pitched six innings, allowing no runs and striking out five. Hayden Woodson and Miles Scott had RBI for the Friars.
NON-LEAGUE
VILLA PARK 3, HARVARD WESTLAKE 2: The Spartans were led by Justin Tims, who pitched a complete game, allowing three hits and striking out four. Tims was also 1 for 2 with an RBI. Zach Mattern was also 1 for 3 with an RBI.
ORANGE COAST LEAGUE
ESTANCIA 13, ORANGE 2: The Eagles (15-4, 7-2) notched an Orange Coast League win Tuesday. Miles Moyer (6-2) earned the win, allowing one earned run and striking out three in four innings. Miles Dodge led the hitting attack, going 4 for 4 with three runs scored and two RBI.
Jake Humphries was 3 for 4 with a run scored, two RBI and a double, Cole Lefebvre was 3 for 6 with two runs scored, two RBI and two doubles, Sawyer Atkinson was 2 for 5 with a run scored and a double, Andrew Mits was 2 for 4 with a run scored and an RBI and Riley Witte was 2 for 3 with a run scored.
