Former Congressman and businessman Harley Rouda announced that he is seeking office again to California’s 47th congressional district.
“Today, California families are grappling with deadly storms and floods, a disaster exacerbated by our climate crisis. In Congress, I will be laser-focused on resolving this crisis – and work with anyone to get it done.”
“This is a battleground district. We need battle-tested leaders who know how to fight – and win.
“Orange County deserves leaders that put bipartisanship ahead of brinkmanship, and focused on delivering results for the working families of our state. I was that leader in Congress, and I’m proud to run to do it again.”
During his first term in congress, Harley delivered more tax dollars back to this district than any member serving before or after him. He was the most productive new member of the 116th congress and, as Chair of the Oversight Subcommittee on the Environment, he championed common sense solutions to climate change. Harley continues to be focused on jobs, the economy, and the environment, and he’s ready to get back to business and deliver again for Orange County.
CA-47 contains the communities of Costa Mesa, Huntington Beach, Irvine, Laguna Beach, Newport Beach, and Seal Beach. Harley represented more than 70% of these voters during his term in Congress from 2019-2021. Congresswoman Katie Porter won the district by 3 points in 2022.
