Youth baseball players may still sign up for the first McLain Baseball Camp featuring two brothers who were drafted and signed by Major League baseball teams Monday, Nov. 21 and Tuesday, Nov. 22 at the Orange County Great Park.

The camp, for youngsters 5-14, will be held on field 7 at the Great Park from 9 a.m. to noon both days and feature brothers Matt and Sean McLain, according to their father, Mike McLain.

The three talented McLain brothers starred in baseball at Beckman High School. Matt McLain was drafted in the first round by the Cincinnati Reds and Sean McLain was drafted in the fifth round by the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Nick McLain started out at UCLA before transferring to Arizona State University.

“Sign-ups are going well and we anticipate the players having a lot of fun and learning about baseball and sportsmanship,” Mike McLain said. “Matt and Sean will be there running it. So will Karol (Jimenez). Nick (McLain) won’t be there now due a conflict with an ASU workout.”

McLain said that those interested can contact Jimenez, who is also running the camp with the McLains or call Jimenez at 714-610-4111 or email him at jimenezkarol13@yahoo.com for more information. Or they can come by at 8:30 a.m. on the day of the camp to sign up.

Players should bring a bat, glove, hat and helmet.
