Santa Ana College’s football team will be looking to get into the win column Saturday when it faces Pasadena City College Saturday at 6 p.m. in Pasadena.
The Dons, 0-2, lost to Moopark College 34-31 on a late field goal Saturday.
With 58 seconds remaining and the score tied at 31, the Dons (0-2) got the ball back at their own 25 yard line. They attempted to move the ball down the field to get into field goal position but instead went three and out, giving the Raiders one more possession with 33 seconds remaining.
Moorpark was then able to advance the ball to the SAC 20-yard line where it called a timeout before kicking the game winning 36-yard field goal.
Santa Ana College quarterback Ceasar Ayala threw for 381 yards and four touchdowns to lead the Dons. Receiver Kyran Hayes had a big day with a career best nine catches for 112 yards and two touchdowns.
Kristian Constantine had five receptions for 86 yards and a touchdown.
Women’s soccer squad earns tie
The Santa Ana College women’s soccer team earned a 0-0 tie Tuesday vs. College of the Desert at home. SAC (0-2-2) was coming off a 2-0 loss to San Jacinto on Friday. Sophomore Wendy Millan was the Dons’ defensive standout in that match.
Men’s soccer team captures win
The men’s soccer team came from behind to defeat San Bernardino Valley College 3-2 at home Tuesday. The Dons also tied Palomar 2-2 on Friday.
