August 26, 2022
Counseling – 7:22 p.m. – 7792 Walker St. (La Palma Police Department) – The reporting party requested counseling regarding child custody issues.
Transient – 9:41 p.m. – 5400 block of La Palma Ave. – A male transient was reportedly laying down on the floor in the back entry way. Party advised and will comply.
August 27, 2022
Counseling – 11:03 a.m. – 5400 block of Dirk Cir. – The reporting party requested advice on how to handle a possible domestic violence situation with her daughter. The reporting party was referred to the Buena Park Police Department to report an incident.
Domestic Abuse – 8:03 p.m. – 5700 block of Fresca Dr. – The caller’s boyfriend reportedly bit the caller. The caller was bleeding from her finger. Paramedics were requested to look at her finger. Buena Park Police was requested to assist with an area check for the boyfriend. A separate 911 caller reported the subject hiding in the bushes in the 6800 block of Valley View St. The subject was arrested for domestic violence and transported to Orange County Jail.
August 29, 2022
Person Down – 6:18 p.m. – 5400 block of La Palma Ave. –Burglary Report – 7:12 p.m. – 5400 block of Montclair Cir. – The caller stated that an umbrella was missing from the backyard. Report taken.
August 30, 2022
Found Property – 8:34 a.m. – 7821 Walker St. (La Palma Police Department) – The chief of police’s secretary received a found wallet through intradepartmental mail.
Fire – 2:50 p.m. – 5000 block of Shirley Dr. – The caller reported seeing black smoke, possibly from an electrical fire. Police responded to the location and located a lot of smoke coming from a residence. The residence was evacuated and police shit down the street. Orange County Fire Authority responded to the fire. Cypress and Buena Park Police assisted with traffic control. Nearby residences were also evacuated. The fire was reportedly contained by 3:08 p.m. A SigAlert was requested for nothrbound Moody from La Palma to Houston for two hours. Arson investigators determined that there was nothing criminal about the fire.
Suspicious Circumstances – 5:40 p.m. – 5500 block of La Palma Ave. – A subject reportedly approached a female aggressively and was chasing her on a bike. It was determined that both subjects were juveniles. There was no crime. Report taken.
August 31, 2022
Theft By False Pretense – 1:51 p.m. – Centerpointe Dr. – The reporting party put down a $500 on a vehicle and now the other party was no longer responding. The subject was now reposting the vehicle online for sale. No prosecution desired. The reporting party just wanted the incident to be known so that the same would not happen to other victims. The same vehicle ad was posted in three different cities on CraigsList. The reporting party ran the VIN, which comes back to a subject in Moore Park. Police left a voicemail with their information to cease and desist on the seller’s phone number provided by the reporting party.
Robbery – 4:19 p.m. – 5400 block of Orangethorpe Ave. – The reporting party advised that he was robbed of cash at gunpoint. The loss was approximately $400 from the cash register. The subjects were two male subjects with a black pistol who fled in a silver BMW. Robbery report taken.
Transient – 10:08 p.m. – Centerpointe Dr. – Assistance was requested with a transient possibly suffering from dementia. There was an ongoing problem with the subject sleeping in the patio area. The subject was advised for trespassing.
September 1, 2022
Citizen Assist – 9:16 a.m. – 5000 block of Shirley Dr. – Insurance was at the residence was was requesting it be boarded up. The residence was red-tagged. The reporting party was not sure if the insurance was allowed to be in the residence. Fire dispatch reported that the insurance was clear. The reporting party was given fire dispatch’s phone number for any further clarifications, questions, or concerns.
