NEW! Northbound (NB) I-405 Closure for Restriping
The NB I-405 closure that was scheduled to install falsework for the Brookhurst Street bridge has been canceled.
Instead, crews will close NB I-405 in Westminster to restripe lanes on the freeway.
NB I-405 will be closed between the NB I-405 off-ramp to Beach Boulevard and the NB I-405 on-ramp from Goldenwest Street.
The closure is scheduled for 11 p.m. TONIGHT, July 20, to 5 a.m. Thursday, July 21.

NEW! Southbound (SB) I-405 Closure for Restriping
Crews will restripe lanes on SB I-405, in Fountain Valley between Slater Avenue and Brookhurst Street.
This work will require a SB I-405 closure between the SB I-405 off-ramp to Magnolia Street and the SB I-405 on-ramp from Talbert Avenue.
The closure is scheduled for 11 p.m. Saturday, July 23, to 6 a.m. Sunday, July 24.

REMINDER! Northbound (NB) I-405 Closures for Brookhurst Street Bridge Falsework Installation
Crews will continue installing falsework for the new portion of the Brookhurst Street bridge over NB I-405.
This work requires NB I-405 closures between the NB I-405 off-ramp to Brookhurst and the NB I-405 on-ramp from Warner Avenue.
NB I-405 closures will continue as early as:
- 11 p.m. Thursday, July 21, to 5 a.m. Friday, July 22; and again on
- 11 p.m. Friday, July 22, to 6 a.m. Saturday, July 23.

Crews will begin installing falsework for the new portion of the Brookhurst Street bridge over SB I-405.
This work will require SB I-405 closures between the SB I-405 off-ramp to Brookhurst and the SB I-405 on-ramp from Talbert Avenue.
SB I-405 closures will be scheduled nightly Monday, July 25, to Friday, July 29, as early as 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Thursday, and 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. on Friday.

Crews continue to construct the new I-405/SR-73 Express Lanes Connector.
This work requires NB I-405 closures between the NB I-405 off-ramp to South Coast Drive and the NB I-405 on-ramp from Hyland Avenue.
This work also requires SB I-405 closures between the SB I-405 off-ramp to Harbor Boulevard and the SB I-405 on-ramp from Bristol Street.
NB I-405 closures are anticipated 11 p.m. to 5 a.m.:
- Monday, July 25; and again on
- Wednesday, July 27.
SB I-405 closures are anticipated 11 p.m. to 5 a.m.
- Tuesday, July 26; and again on
- Thursday, July 28.

REMINDER! Southbound (SB) I-405 Warner Avenue On- and Off-Ramps Closed for Approximately Six Weeks
Crews closed the SB I-405 straight on-ramp from Warner and the SB I-405 loop off-ramp to Warner to accommodate the freeway widening.
The ramps closed Thursday, July 14, and are anticipated to open after approximately six weeks.
OPENING SOON! Northbound (NB) I-405 Straight On-Ramp from Brookhurst Street Closed for Approximately One Month
Crews closed the NB I-405 straight on-ramp from Brookhurst Street to accommodate the freeway widening.
The ramp closed Monday, June 27, and is anticipated to open next week.
UPDATE! Cadillac Trail Full Closure
Crews closed a portion of the bike and pedestrian trail between Cadillac Avenue and the Santa Ana River Trail in Costa Mesa. The closures are needed for construction of a retaining wall adjacent to NB I-405.
The full closures are to continue through :
- 5 p.m. Friday, July 22; and again
- 7 a.m. Monday, July 25, to 5 a.m. Friday, July 29.
The trail will be closed for the full durations listed above.
Trail Detour: Hyland Avenue → MacArthur Boulevard → Santa Ana River trail entrance.
Signage will be in place to navigate around the closure.
REMINDER! Northbound (NB) I-405/Westbound (WB) SR-22 On-Ramp from Valley View Street Closed for Approximately Two Months
Crews closed the NB I-405/WB SR-22 on-ramp from Valley View Street to accommodate the freeway widening.
The ramp closed Monday, June 6, and is anticipated to reopen August 2022.
REMINDER! Southbound (SB) I-405/Eastbound (EB) SR-22 Connector Extended Lane Reduction
Crews reduced the SB I-405/EB SR-22 connector to two lanes for pavement activity.
The lane reductions began Friday, June 10, and will be in place through August 2022.
COMING SOON! Northbound (NB) Loop On-Ramp from Harbor Boulevard to Close for Approximately One Month
Crews will close the NB I-405 loop on-ramp from Harbor Boulevard for approximately one month to accommodate the freeway widening.
The ramp closure is anticipated for later this summer.
The 405 Community Outreach Team will provide updates in future alerts.

Construction Activities
Montecito Channel
UPDATE! Crews will begin relocating several utilities to continue widening the drainage channel adjacent to homes in the College Park West community.
Utility relocation is anticipated to begin as early as Monday, July 25, and continue through mid-August.
Block wall installation is anticipated to begin in August.
Temporary fencing and sound blankets will remain in place during construction.
Construction activities are anticipated 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Crews may access the work zone, intermittently along College Park Drive and from the WB SR-22 connector, to mobilize equipment as early as 6 a.m., and some activities may occur at night from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. as needed

North Gate Road
UPDATE! Pile installation for the sound wall adjacent to North Gate Road is anticipated to be complete by the end of the week.
Crews closed North Gate Road for approximately three months to conduct sewer work.
Vehicles, bicyclists and pedestrians will be detoured to Golden Rain Road to enter and exit Leisure World.
The closure began Tuesday, July 5, and is anticipated to open after approximately three months.
Sewer work is anticipated 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays, for approximately three months. Crews may mobilize equipment as early as 6 a.m., and some activities may occur from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. as needed.

Almond Avenue
REMINDER! Crews wrapped up electrical work, and will continue constructing the sound walls along northbound (NB) I-405, adjacent to Almond Avenue.
Block installation has been delayed due to material supply challenges.
Crews are anticipated to continue wall work in July, and block wall installation is anticipated to begin as early as August.
Construction activities will continue 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays.
Crews may mobilize equipment as early as 6 a.m., and some activities may occur from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. as needed.

Springdale Street
UPDATE! Crews will continue constructing the new traffic signal at the Westminster Boulevard/Springdale Street intersection as part of the bridges’ reconstruction.
Activities include permanent pole foundation work, as well as electrical work. After the temporary signal is complete, crews will begin construction of the permanent traffic signal.
Construction of the permanent signal is ongoing, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays and Saturdays, through August 2022.
This work will also include intermittent nighttime lane reductions on Springdale and Westminster.
Crews may mobilize equipment as early as 6 a.m., and some activities may occur from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. as needed.

Bolsa Avenue
UPDATE! Crews began block wall installation for the walls along SB I-405, adjacent to Vermont Street.
Activities will continue 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., on weekdays, for approximately two weeks.
Crews may mobilize equipment as early as 6 a.m., and some activities may occur from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. as needed.

NEW! The city of Fountain Valley is performing sewer replacement work along Magnolia Street at Warner Avenue, which requires lane reductions. The sewer project is anticipated to be complete in early September.
