Cypress police blotter, July 11 to July 17, 2022

July 11, 2022

Burglary – 8:40 a.m. – 6400 block of Ball Rd. – At approximately 5:00 a.m., two suspects smashed the front glass door and stole a register tray with $150 cash. The tray was recovered in the adjacent neighborhood missing the cash. From the video, the suspects were described as males, medium builds, wearing hooded sweatshirts and wearing gloves.
Embezzlement – 12:29 p.m. – 10900 block of Meridian – A female subject was arrested for grand theft after she embezzled close to $24K since May.
Stolen/Recovered Vehicle – 3:32 p.m. – 9200 block of Bloomfield – Sometime between 7/8/22 at 2:00 p.m. and 7/10/22 at 8:00 p.m. the victim’s vehicle was stolen, but he was able to recover it after tracking it down and locating it down the street using an Apple Airtag. The vehicle was missing the catalytic converter when the victim recovered.

July 12, 2022

Burglary – 4:43 a.m. – 11300 block of Harkers Ct. – Officers responded to the location in regards to a possible burglary that occurred. A witness observed a male and female subject leaving the area carrying boxes from the residence. Officers made contact with the resident and learned the unknown suspects entered into the victim’s unlocked vehicle and used the garage door opener to gain access to the garage. The victim could not provide an exact loss at this time.
Arrest – 10:33 a.m. – 10900 block of Meridian – From a call for service, one subject was arrested for possession of stolen property, and a second subject was arrested for resisting arrest and possession of stolen property. The stolen property was identified as property taken from Target.

July 13, 2022

Graffiti – 11:19 a.m. – 11400 block of Valley View St. – In May, the business was vandalized with paint. The graffiti had been painted over before notification was made to the police, but a report was taken.
Violation of a Court Order – 2:40 p.m. – 10300 block of Janice Lynn – A known suspect violated a restraining order when he confronted the victim as she arrived home and he tried to enter her vehicle with her. The suspect refused to speak with officers.
Suspicious Subject – 3:08 p.m. – 10600 block of Charles Cir. – From a call of a suspicious person who was seen stealing mail and trying door handles, a female subject was arrested for burglary after she entered the victim’s house.

July 14, 2022

Pursuit – 8:09 a.m. – Bloofmield/Ball – From a broadcast of a stolen vehicle captured by the stationary license plate reader cameras at the intersection, an officer located the vehicle and was involved in a short vehicle pursuit. The suspect foot bailed and a short foot pursuit ensued before he was taken into custody. The male subject was arrested for felony evading, resisting arrest, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of methamphetamine.
Burglary Report – 8:21 a.m. – 9100 block of Bloomfield Ave. – Between yesterday at 10:30 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. today, unknown suspect entered the victim’s unlocked garage and stole an orange and red electric bike. The bicycle was custom built (no brand) and had large tires, cup holder, black Beats speaker attached, and a Guns and Roses sticker (Value $3800.00).

July 15, 2022

Catalytic Converter Theft – 11600 block of Java St. – Between 07-13-22 and 07-14-22, unknown suspect stole the victim’s catalytic converter.
Attempted Grand Theft – 8:28 p.m. – 4700 block of Larwin – Sometime in the past 24 hours, an unknown suspect attempted to steal the catalytic converter from the victim’s vehicle.

July 16, 2022

Felony Vandalism – 12:31 a.m. – 9100 block of Valley View St. – Officers were dispatched to the location regarding a suspicious male. Upon arrival, an officer located the subject attempting to hide from officers. The subject was detained and identified. An area check revealed two smashed windows to the front of the businesses located in the 9200 block of Valley View. Ultimately, the subject was arrested for felony vandalism.
Traffic Collision – 6:12 p.m. – 6400 block of Orange Ave. – Due to a power outage, the traffic signal at Orange and Holder was blacked out. A Jeep Wrangler failed to stop at the intersection and struck another vehicle. The Jeep then veered into the living room of a town home causing significant damage to the home.

July 17, 2022

Commercial Burglary – 12:58 p.m. – 10800 block of Hope – Approximately 14 minutes prior to the call, a suspect entered the building after using a large trash can to smash a window. The suspect, described as male Hispanic or white, late 20’s-30’s, average height and slightly heavy set, wearing all black entered the business and was confronted by the onsite security officer. The security officer exited the building prior to calling the police. Orange County Sheriff’s Department K9s and Duke assisted with a full building search, and we discovered the suspect had escaped just prior to police arrival. The loss is unknown at this time.
Stolen Trailer – 7:11 p.m. – 5200 block of Lincoln Ave. – A white trailer was stolen from the parking lot at approximately 10:00 a.m. The trailer contained vintage furniture and clothing valued at $100,000. The suspects were a male and female Hispanic, driving a tan or gray Chevrolet SUV.
Burglary – 9:24 a.m. – 9100 block of Valley View St. – The victim saw his property on the Police Department’s social media page and confirmed that he had been burglarized sometime during the past two weeks.
