May 30, 2022

Traffic Collision – 2:35 a.m. – Holder/Cerritos – The reporting party was awoken by a single vehicle collision at the northwest corner of Cerritos and Holder. She observed two male subjects walking away from the vehicle northbound on Holder. Officers conducted an area check for the two and were met with negative results. Investigation revealed the initial collision occurred at Holder and Ferne where the subject collided with the curb and sheared off the No Parking sign.
Grand Theft – 3:19 a.m. – Cerritos/Bloomfield – Officers were dispatched to the area regarding a possible catalytic converter theft in progress. The reporting party observed 3 cars double parked on Cerritos near a white van that was parked on the north curb line. The RP heard sounds of a saw and cutting near the white van, along with two males near the vehicle. The males were seen entering into the vehicles a short time later and all vehicles left west bound on Cerritos Avenue. Officers conducted an area check for the suspect vehicles and were met with negative results. Officers were unable to locate the victim at this time.
Attempted Stolen Vehicle – 10:58 a.m. – 8800 block of Walker St. – Between 9 p.m. on 5/29/22 and 9 a.m. today, an unknown suspect attempted to steal the victim’s white 2006 Chevrolet Silverado. The suspect pried the driver’s door and damaged the steering column but was unable to take the vehicle.
Arrest – 6:30 p.m. – Jade/Carob – From a call of a possible DUI driver who crashed into a fire hydrant and left the scene, a male subject was arrested for hit and run, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance and for driving on a suspended license.
Pedestrian Check – 10:55 p.m. – Lincoln/Valley View – From a pedestrian check, a male subject was arrested for numerous outstanding warrants.

May 31, 2022

Catalytic Converter Theft – 9:21 a.m. – 11100 block of Knott Ave. – Sometime over the weekend, an unknown suspect stole the catalytic converters from two of the company vehicles.
Vandalism – 2:09 p.m. – 5200 block of Evergreen – The church was vandalized by breaking a cabinet while stealing items from the lost and found.
Arrest – 8:39 p.m. – 6800 block of Katella Ave. – From call regarding a possible shoplifter inside the business, a male subject was arrested for shoplifting, possession of burglary tools, and possession of a controlled substance.

June 1, 2022

Porch Theft – 1:57 p.m. – 10400 block of Santa Elise – Captured on the Ring camera, a male suspect stole a freshly delivered package containing approximately $100 worth of shampoo products.
Traffic Stop – 8:13 p.m. – Lincoln/Walker – From a traffic stop, a male subject was arrested for possession of Methamphetamine and driving on a suspended license, and a second subject was arrested for possession of Heroin.

June 2, 2022

Arrest – 2:18 p.m. – 1100 block of Valencia (Fullerton) – Detectives arrested a male subject for felony vandalism.
Vehicle Burglary – 6:41 p.m. – 4200 block of Surrey – An unknown suspect window smashed the victim’s vehicle and stole his Smith & Wesson firearm along with his ammo.

June 3, 2022

Vandalism – 8:58 a.m. – 6500 block of Katella Ave. – On 06/01/22 at 7:55 p.m., a male transient turned on the exterior water valve causing the property to flood. The flood entered the building and caused extensive floor/wall damage (approximately $15,000 in repairs). The transient was captured on surveillance.
Assist Outside Agency – 8:53 p.m. – Valley View/Cerritos – Cypress officers assisted Buena Park Police Department on a stabbing investigation.

June 4, 2022

Assist Outside Agency/DUI Traffic Collision – 3:41 a.m. – Delong/Santa Margarita (La Palma) – Officers assisted La Palma Police Department with a DUI traffic collision at the location.
Grand Theft – 8:01 p.m. – 6800 block of Katella Ave. – On Monday night at 4 a.m. and 5 a.m., two unknown suspects stole 12 car seats valued at $2400 from the storage containers to the rear of the business. The suspects were driving a red Mercury Mountaineer with gold trim and placed the car seats inside and on top. The suspects made two trips to steal the items.

June 5, 2022

Traffic Stop – 7:01 p.m. – 6300 block of Lincoln Ave. – From a traffic stop, a female subjecgt was arrested for outstanding warrants and a second female subject for being unlicensed.
