Woodbridge High School’s girls flag football team defeated Sage Hill Wednesday to finish Pacific Coast League play 14-0, earning the program’s second straight league crown.
“It was our senior night honoring all of our seniors,” said Woodbridge Coach Mark Thompson. “Sage Hill is well coached and a strong, young team with a lot of talent and potential. Woodbridge came out strong scoring on our first possession and never looked back. It was a fun win, and I am glad that everyone got to play in this last league game and especially for the seniors who have been in the program for the past four years.”
Woodbridge has been led by five players who played on both sides of the ball: senior Zoey Ceman, a captain and receiver/linebacker; senior Mia Thompson, a captain and running back/defensive back; junior Sophia Penaflor, a captain and receiver/linebacker; sophomore Dylan Harris, a receiver/linebacker and sophomore Laney Brucker, the quarterback and safety.
The Warriors will find out their CIF playoff draw Saturday morning when the pairings are announced.
