Warehouse fire in Los Alamitos Tuesday morning

According to the Orange County Fire Authority, 38 units responded to a structure fire at 10852 Kyle Street (at Catalina Street) in Los Alamitos this morning.

Robert Acosta of the City of Los Alamitos reported that it was a three-alarm fire and that the structure will be a total loss. He also explained that the particular business was an e-commerce bookseller. At this time, the cause of the fire is unknown pending an investigation.

A search of public records shows that Baco Books (bacobooks.com) is located at 10852 Kyle Street in a building immediately north of a parking lot on the corner of Kyle Street and Florista.

The public is advised that Kyle Street between Florista and Catalina will be closed for an additional four to five hours.

Units responded from multiple agencies including Los Alamitos, Seal Beach, Long Beach, Garden Grove, and Cypress.

The City of Los Alamitos issued a Nixle alert:

The Orange County Fire Authority and police officers are currently on the scene of a structure fire in the 10800 block of Kyle St. Please avoid this area for approximately one hour. Southbound Bloomfield Street is shut down and could have a heavy impact on school traffic. Please plan accordingly and follow the Los Alamitos Police Department on social media for updates.

That general area includes Los Alamitos Medical Center, Trend Offset printing, Deft Touch Soccer, and Golden State Water Company.
