US Senate Candidate Mark Meuser’s car broken into while in San Francisco for Bay to Breakers

The rental car driven by Mark Meuser, California Republican Party endorsed candidate for the U.S. Senate, had its rear window smashed and thousands of dollars of his property stolen Sunday night while he was in the city to participate in the Bay to Breakers marathon.

Meuser had three backpacks, two computers, and clothes stolen while his rental car was parked in front of a restaurant in San Francisco’s North Beach neighborhood.

“While I am upset, I am unfortunately not surprised, as this is just another example of the lawlessness that San Francisco and so many other cities across California have been seeing for far too long,” Meuser said. “Californians are tired of the ongoing crime wave in this state, and Americans across the country are looking at California with concern that policies that are being implemented in this state will come to them. It’s sad that someone can’t come enjoy dinner in this once beautiful city without the expectation that their belongings will be ransacked by criminals that do not fear any repercussions for their actions.”

The restaurant’s management called the San Francisco Police Department on Meuser’s behalf.

“I don’t expect to ever see any of my belongings again similarly I’m sure the criminals who stole them are never expecting to serve even a day in jail,” Meuser said.
