UPDATE: Inaugural California Live Basketball Tournament continues Saturday in OC

Day two of the inaugural California Live Tournament is Saturday, June 17. The finals will be held on Sunday, June 18 at Irvine High School.

The tournament is being run by the Southern California Interscholastic Basketball Coaches Association.

Among the venues are Irvine High School, Tustin High School, Woodbridge High School, Crean Lutheran High School, Laguna Hills High School, Mission Viejo High School, Estancia High School and San Juan Hills High School.

There are 163 teams competing in 10 divisions.

Competition began Friday morning and concluded late Friday with solid turnouts at the three venues in Irvine, including the two gymnasiums at Irvine High School.

In the Destination Irvine Bracket, both Irvine and Woodbridge won on Friday. Woodbridge beat Scripps Ranch 58-47 and Irvine topped St. Margaret’s 68-45.

Both teams will play two games Saturday. Irvine faces Saugus at 4:45 p.m. in the main Woodbridge gym. Woodbridge meets Lakewood in the smaller gym at Woodbridge at 5 p.m.

The winners of those games move on to Saturday’s 8:30 p.m game at the main Woodbridge gym.

Tickets can be purchased by going to GoFan.com app. A parking fee of $10 is also being charged at Irvine High School which goes toward the basketball program.
