Two Suspects Arrested for a Gang-Related Murder

ANAHEIM, Calif. (April 18, 2024) – Anaheim Police Detectives have arrested a 20-year-old man and a 17-year-old male for their involvement in a fatal gang-related shooting of a 13-year-old boy.

On April 17, 2024, at approximately 4:16 p.m., Anaheim Police Dispatch received reports of a shooting that occurred on the 2800 block of W. Ball Rd. Upon Officers’ arrival, they located the victim, a 13-year-old boy, suffering from at least one gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital and later succumbed to his injuries.

Patrol, Investigations, and SWAT personnel extensively searched the area and arrested two suspects, a 20-year-old man and a 17-year-old male, for the murder without incident. The 17-year-old suspect was lodged at Orange County Juvenile Hall for murder. The man, Bryan Gonzalez, of Anaheim, was booked into the Anaheim PD Detention Facility for being an accessory to the murder.

Detectives believe the shooting was gang-related and are not disclosing any additional details at this time because the investigation is ongoing. The victim and juvenile suspect’s identifying information will not be released due to their ages.
