Travis Kelce made his “Eras Tour” debut on Sunday as he joined Taylor Swift onstage in a surprise appearance in front of 89,000 fans inside Wembley Stadium in London.
The surprise left thousands of fans speechless and sent Swifties spiraling on the internet as the Kansas City Chiefs tight end adorned the stage with dancers Jan Ravnik and Kameron Saunders to bring Swift back to life after falling to the ground during “The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived.”
Video of the moment shows Kelce picking up the popstar and carrying her to a bright red couch before Saunders and Ravnik try to lift Swift’s spirits so she can continue the concert with “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart.”
The song, featured on her newest studio album, “The Tortured Poets Department,” hints that despite having a seemingly broken heart following the end of her six-year-long relationship with British actor Joe Alwyn, Swift can still put on a show.
Kelce has attended all three of his girlfriend’s shows in London, sharing a VIP tent with his brother Jason Kelce and sister-in-law Kylie Kelce. Other notable celebrities were also spotted in the tent, including Sir Paul McCartney, Jon Bon Jovi, Hugh Grant, Cate Blanchett, and Mila Kunis.
Following the surprise appearance, Swifties and football fans alike shared their shock and amusement at the sweet moment.
“Oh London, London, #LondonTSTheErasTour! What special #TSTheErasTour crowds you were! The not-so-smallest hard launch that ever lived 🏹 , a TayGracie “Us” collab, and an ultra mega 1989 mashup all in one show?! So Long, London 🇬🇧 (for now 😉)!” Taylor Nation wrote.
Jared Koeller, a sports anchor for a location news station in Kansas City, also tweeted his astonishment, saying, “So the 3x Super Bowl champion tight end of the Kansas City Chiefs has joined his superstar girlfriend on stage in front of Paul McCartney and 89k in London. A real sentence. Of all the timelines, this is the greatest. Long live Taylor Swift & Travis Kelce.”
Ahead of the London shows, Kelce hinted toward a jaw-dropping performance from Swift while prompting his concert festival Kelce Jam.
“Man, I’ll tell you what, I think the London shows,” he told Entertainment Tonight when asked what show can’t be missed during the European leg of the Eras Tour. “I think she’s at Wembley eight times, which is mind-blowing that she can do that many shows in one stadium and fill that thing up. I played in Wembley once, and I don’t even think we filled that thing all the way up. And London’s always an amazing city. Paris is an amazing city.”
As if Kelce showing up in a full costume on stage wasn’t a big enough surprise, Swift also brought out Gracie Abrams for the surprise song portion of her concert. The two sang “us.” — their duet on Abram’s new album “The Secret of Us,” which came out on Friday.
Swift will head to Dublin, Ireland following her stint in London.
