ST. JOSEPH’S DAY AND RETURN OF THE SWALLOWS CELEBRATION
The Return of the Swallows is a yearly celebration that has brought locals and visitors to the Mission San Juan Capistrano since the 1920s to enjoy the historic landmark. The mission grounds transform into a lively and colorful celebration complete with mariachi music, the ringing of the bells, flamenco dancing, arts and crafts, and Native American storytelling. In addition, there will be community presentations, tours of the grounds, a virtual lecture on the swallows, and lessons on the history of St Joseph’s Day. MATTHEW MORRISON
The Broadway and “Glee” star is performing his solo act on the Samueli Theater stage for three unforgettable nights. Morrison is known for his incredible dancing skills as seen in “Footloose” and “Hairspray” on Broadway. The Orange County School of the Arts alum will perform a collection of songs from throughout his career as well as covers of pop hits. ORANGE COUNTY UKULELE FESTIVAL
For the third year in a row, the OC Uke Fest will celebrate the four-stringed instrument with a full weekend of music. The festival includes ukulele performances, an open mic, group jams, workshops, lessons, a marketplace, raffle, and silent auction. This year’s list of performers includes Brittni Paiva, Jeff Peterson, Heidi Swedberg, Daniel Ward, and Victoria Vox. Enjoy live music and cabaret performances all weekend long. “THE SHARK IS BROKEN”
Dive behind the scenes of the creation of the blockbuster film that would change history forever in this play about the making of “Jaws.” Film stars Robert Shaw, Richard Dreyfuss, and Roy Scheider gamble and argue their way into an unexpected friendship, all while creating the film that would impact their careers more than they know.
