Segerstrom Center of the Arts is pleased to partner with CHOC (Children’s Hospital of Orange County) Foundation to hold a book drive for their Family Resource Center.
In the spirit of celebrating one of the great American novels, Harper Lee’s To Kill a Mockingbird, patrons are encouraged to donate books throughout the run of the play (December 27, 2022 – January 8, 2023) to help CHOC provide books to patients, parents and siblings.
Both reading and coloring books for all ages will be accepted.
The only requirement for the books is that they are new.
Knowing how important reading is to children’s well-being and creativity, the Center is excited to provide an opportunity for CHOC patients and their loved ones to discover their own favorite books. The Center is delighted to support such a wonderful local organization this holiday season.
WHEN: To Kill a Mockingbird December 27, 2022, until January 8, 2023
WHERE: Segerstrom Center for the Arts, Segerstrom Hall
Donation bins will be on-site in the main lobby of Segerstrom Hall.
The Family Resource Center (FRC) is an inviting space offering comfort, support, resources, and education to all CHOC patients and families. The goal is to create a sense of normalcy within the hospital setting. It is a warm environment where family members connect and share information with one another. The Gifting Library in the Resource Center relies solely on donations from generous supporters. Over 20,000 books a year are gifted to patients and their families, as patients and their siblings may select one brand new book per day to keep.
