The Shops at Mission Viejo will undergo a multimillion-dollar expansion that will add 50,000 square feet of retail and dining space to the shopping center.
Real estate investment trust Simon, the owner of The Shops, plans to include an “outdoor village” focused on open-air experiences from outdoor dining terraces to new green spaces.
Construction should start later this year with plans to open the new area in 2026 in time for the holiday shopping season.
Incoming restaurants include North Italia and Pacific Catch with more concepts to be announced soon. A two-level Arhaus and a Uniqlo store will also join The Shops at Mission Viejo’s existing list of 150 tenants.
“We are excited to share our plans for the upcoming expansion and revitalization of The Shops at Mission Viejo, including the many ways in which we are elevating what our shoppers can continue to expect during their time with us,” General Manager Patsy Sanquist said in a statement.
“Outdoor living is such an integral part of the Orange County lifestyle, and creating more open-air experiences is a significant point of emphasis in our plans,” Sanquist added.
