The SAPD is searching for an armed gangbanger on parole who has threatened his ex-girlfriend

Detectives are attempting to locate Anthony Madrid (aka “Apache”), who is wanted for threatening his ex-girlfriend with a weapon at her residence and for a parole violation, according to the SAPD.

BE ADVISED: Anthony is a documented gang member and considered armed and dangerous. Do not approach or attempt to contact him.

If you see him, please call the Watch Commander at (714) 245-8700 or Detective G. Corona at (714) 245-8429/GCorona@santa-ana.org.

In California, the penalties for threatening someone and brandishing a weapon can be quite severe, especially for a gang member on parole.

Threatening an ex-girlfriend could be charged under various statutes, including criminal threats (Penal Code § 422), which can be a felony punishable by up to three years in state prison.

Brandishing a weapon is covered under Penal Code § 417. This offense is generally prosecuted as a misdemeanor, punishable by up to one year in county jail and fines of up to $1,000. However, if the weapon is brandished in certain circumstances, such as in the presence of a peace officer or on school grounds, it can be charged as a felony with penalties ranging from 16 months to three years in state prison.

Given the individual’s gang affiliation and parole status, additional penalties could apply, including enhancements for gang-related activities and potential parole violations.
