Tick Tick Boom, and just like that the Swedish Thunder Gods are back. The Hives announce a new album and tour in 2025!
In their 30th year as a band, The Hives are ready to take on the world with a tour and an album with the most appropriate title, “The Hives Forever Forever The Hives.” That’s the plan and the quintet is ready to execute it
It’s true, the band really is from Sweden, Fargersta to be exact and they have been thrilling fans since 1993. This band is very-very unique by any standard of measurement. That’s because their line-up has been fairly intact since day one. The Hives featured Howlin’ Pelle Almqvist behind the mic, Nicholaus Arson (lead guitar, backing vocals), Vigilante Carlstroem (rhythm guitar, backing vocals), Dr. Matt Destruction (bass) and Chris Dangerous bags the drums all day.
They remained a solid core unit from the beginning until 2013, when Matt Destruction retired due to health issues. He was replaced by The Johan and Only. They are collective gold, OK maybe platinum because they sound unreal.
In a recent press release they said, “This message is to inform you that International Rock Sensation The Hives, the best live band on the planet and still your new favourite band, lauded on all continents for their masterful skill and reckless abandon in the rock music field, have once again, sooner than you expected, created a new body of work the likes of which have never been heard or indeed probably will again.”
It continued, “A new record so full of energy, joy, anger and life that you will be questioning reality as you have known it,” it continued. “They finally did it. Every single song a single, every single single a hit, every hit a direct hit in the face of the man.”
THE HIVES FOREVER FOREVER THE HIVES
The press release also disclosed that the 13-track album was “crafted with commitment, abandon and skill in Sweden in cohorts with the esteemed producers Pelle Gunnerfeldt and Mike D of Beastie Boys.”
