On Wednesday, 2/26/2025, police detectives arrested Chan Giang, in connection with a homicide that occured on 2/21/25, according to the Garden Grove Police Department.
Giang was detained in San Ysidro as he was attempting to walk across the border in to Mexico. A subsequent search warrant was conducted at Giang’s residence in the City of Garden Grove. Giang was later transported and booked in to Orange County Jail.

On Friday, 2/21/25 at approximately 11:20pm, Garden Grove PD Officers were dispatched to a parking lot near 9622 Garden Grove Blvd. regarding a shooting that just occurred.
When police officers arrived on the scene, they located one male victim with a gunshot wound to the head.
The officers rendered medical aid until OCFA paramedics arrived at the scene. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries yesterday, 2/24/25.
