The County of Orange will be closed on Pres. Lincoln’s birthday but are they trying to cancel him?

All Orange County Administrative offices will be closed Wednesday, February 12, 2025, in observance of the holiday. Normal operation hours will resume Thursday, February 13, 2025.

The closure is due to the observance of President Abe Lincoln’s birthday.

For some reason the County of Orange forgot to mention President Lincoln when they announced the office closures but the Orange County Public Works Department did remember to mention Lincoln in their announcement.

Is someone at the County of Orange trying to cancel President Lincoln? He has been slammed by the woke mob in the past few years for executing Dakota native Americans who attacked Americans and for a comment about giving only educated African Americans the vote, in addiiton to those who served in the U.S. Army during the Civil War.

Lincoln did take pains to not sign off on the sentences of many Dakota warriors, according to Forbes. While he did not offer extend the vote to all African Americans he realized that this was a contentious subject and so he targeted those he thought most Americans would support. One of the reasons why he was later assassinated by John Wilkes Booth was his offer of the vote to select African Americans, according to USA Today.

However Lincoln saved the U.S. during that Civil War. As such he should never be canceled and someone ought to remind the County of Orange that if they are going to take time off work on Feb. 13 they ought to note why they are doing so.

Kudos to the Orange County Public Works Department for acknowledging Lincoln in their post!
