On Wednesday night, detectives from the Special Investigations Unit conducted a narcotics enforcement operation in Orange County, according to the Costa Mesa Police Department.

During the operation, they stopped a vehicle along an exit of the I-5 FWY for multiple vehicle code violations.

CMPD K9 police dog Aran and his handler assisted the detectives at the scene with an open-air sniff around the vehicle.

This led to the seizure of approximately 13 kilograms of suspected cocaine concealed within the vehicle.

The driver, not from the area, was arrested at the scene for various narcotics trafficking violations and booked at the Costa Mesa Police Department’s jail.

Crime doesn’t take a holiday break and neither do the police in Costa Mesa!
