The Foothill High School girls basketball team used an aggressive defense to record a 32-14 victory over Pacifica in a North Hills League game Friday night at Foothill.

Elize Mcaveney, a junior forward, scored 13 points and Meleah Paige added nine points for the Knights (8-8, 1-1).

Foothill shinned on the defensive end of the floor holding the Mariners to three points in the first half and was in total control the rest of the way.

“Our defense, for sure, was the key tonight,” said Paige, a junior point guard. “Over the last several games, we have been playing much better.”

“We were communicating on the court really well tonight,” added Mcaveney. “We are playing good basketball and we’re playing hard. We’re coming together as a team.”

Pacifica (6-15, 0-2) was led by Emma Taula and Chloe Rizk who each scored four points.
