I want to share with you some exciting news in these final days of the Easter season. Namely, one hundred and seven (107) children in our parish have just received their First Holy Communion and now are able to receive our Lord in the Eucharist to their heart’s content for the rest of their lives; eighty-two (82) of our teens will be sealed with the gifts of the Holy Spirit in Confirmation onSaturday, May 28; and the Easter season will conclude with many adults receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation on Pentecost Sunday, June 5.
After that, we have our parish school graduation on June 10, and summer break begins for the rest of our students on Thursday, June 16.
When I say summer break, I mean break only for our students and teachers. For the rest of the parish, Corpus Christi Sunday, which falls on June 19, will be very significant for us. On this day,nwe not only celebrate the precious gift of the Body and Blood of Christ, but also Father’s Day and the commencement of our church renovation. The plan is to close down our church building for about a month-and-a-half to two months so that work can be completed.
Our weekday Masses will be held in the Parish Hall and all the weekend Masses take place outside at the school flagpole area.
Everything mentioned above is contingent on diocesan approval which is expected in the coming days. Raynatus (Ray) and Marian Kamus from the Kamus Consulting Group are putting the finishing touches on the design concepts for our church remodel. Once this is done, we will unveil the designs to the parish.
