The City of Irvine is in the process of making improvements to the South Yale Corridor, between the I-405 Freeway and University Drive. The South Yale Corridor Improvements project aims to better utilize the available roadway space to better serve the community through increased safety, access to neighborhoods and the school, as well as connections to nearby parks and trails.
A cycle track demonstration event will take place Saturday, August 26, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. to showcase how a temporary cycle track can be used in the project area. This event will provide an opportunity for community members to drive their vehicles and/or ride their bikes while experiencing this type of improvement along Yale Avenue between Michelson Drive and Royce Road. As part of the event, the City will be displaying information boards to illustrate the final improvements.
