Villa Park 8, Aquinas 2: Jake Nobles recorded the win, allowing two runs and striking out five in five innings and Logan Hoppie earned the save with four strikeouts in two innings. Val Lopez was 3 for 4 with a run scored and two RBI, Nobles was 1 for 2 with a run scored and an RBI and Ezra Ornelas was 2 for 4 with a run scored and an RBI. Villa Park (24-6) hosts St. John Bosco (24-4) Friday in the quarterfinals.
Santa Margarita 6, Huntington Beach 5: The Eagles (18-12) were led by Brennan Bauer who struck out four in 4 1/3 innings to earn the win. Carter Enoch was 1 for 2 with a home run and a walk, Chase Marlow was 2 for 4 with two singles and an RBI and Warren Gravely was 1 for 3 with a double and two RBI. Santa Margarita will host Los Alamitos Friday at 3:15 p.m.

Foothill 3, San Clemente 2: The Knights were led by Everett Rycroft who pitched 5 1/3 innings, allowing seven hits and two runs and striking out three. Kyle Telson pitched 1 2/3 innings allowing two hits to notch the save. Ezekiel Vargas was 2 for 4 with a double, home run, two runs scored and an RBI, Aidan Colburn was 2 for 3 with a run scored and an RBI, Sean Green was 1 for 3 with a walk and Jaxon Foshay had a sacrifice fly. Foothill (19-11) hosts Mater Dei (17-13) Friday in the quarterfinals.
Mater Dei 6, Simi Valley 4: Brady Guth hit the go-ahead home run in the top of the seventh for Mater Dei, which faces Foothill Friday.

Woodbridge 2, Irvine 1 (10 innings): Caleb Camacho hit a double down the right field line for the winning run with one out in the 10th inning and Vincent DeMarco, who came on in the sixth inning, got the victory for top-seeded Woodbridge, which plays at Thousand Oaks Friday. A near capacity crowd watched the game at Ryan Lemmon Stadium.

Northwood 10, Laguna Hills 5: On a hot afternoon at Laguna Hills, the first seven Northwood batters reached base fashioning three hits, a fielder’s choice, three hit batters and a sacrifice fly into five runs to start the game. In the bottom of the first Laguna Hills answered with four straight hits and two runs before senior starting southpaw Carter Liu settled down leaving the bases loaded and a 5-2 lead.
Northwood kept the heat on adding a run in the second, a pair in the fifth and single runs in the sixth and seventh. The Timberwolves parlayed 13 hits, seven hit batters, three walks, three sacrifice flies and a sacrifice bunt into a 10-5 win despite stranding a dozen base runners.
Senior designated hitter Paul Grossman led the Timberwolf offense going 4 for 4 with a walk and two runs.
The lefty is 7 for 8 with five runs in the postseason. Senior lefty Liu added three hits while pitching five innings allowing just three earned runs. Senior right fielder Joseph Harper did a bit of everything with a hit, two runs, two RBI, a walk, a sacrifice fly, a hit by pitch and a stolen base.
Table setter senior second baseman Koji Yoshimizu had a pair of hits and two runs while senior center fielder Roman Suarez reached base four times and scored two runs.
Senior DH cleanup hitter Nathan Ivey led Laguna Hills (15-14) with three hits, all ringing shots to center. Leadoff hitter sophomore shortstop Nate Medina also had a pair of hits. Laguna Hills managed eight hits, but also left eight men on base.
Senior Jake Kahl kept the Hawks in the game coming on in relief in the second inning. In 4 1/3 innings he allowed five hits and three runs while striking out three.
Northwood (14-15-1) has won nine of its last 12 games and will host Citrus Valley Friday in the quarterfinals.

Estancia 11, Foothill Tech 1: Estancia (17-13) was led by winning pitcher Nico Viramontes (8-0),,He pitched a complete game allowing one earned run, striking out two and allowing six hits.
Viramontes was 1 for 3 with a run scored, RBI and a double, Sawyer Atkinson was 2 for 3 with two runs scored and an RBI, Jacob Ramirez was 1 for 3 with two RBI, Vaughn McCrea was 1 for 3 with two RBI and Athan Perez was 2 for 3 with run scored and an RBI.
Estancia will host Pacifica Christian on Friday in the quarterfinals on Friday, 3:15 pm.
