July is Parks Make Life Better Month, and the goal of the branding campaign is to raise awareness of the benefits of parks and recreation throughout California and to raise the status of parks and recreation as an essential community service. The Seal Beach Recreation and Community Services Department is celebrating the campaign by offering activities taking place during the month of July.

The first activity includes various social media contests on Instagram, Facebook, and Nextdoor. Follow the Recreation and Community Services Department on Instagram @sealbeachrecreation, on Facebook at Seal Beach Recreation and Community Services, and on Nextdoor @City of Seal Beach. Contests are free to participate in and the winner receives a prize!

The next activity is a flower seed giveaway at City Hall and the Tennis and Pickleball Center during hours of operation. City Hall is located at 211 8th Street and is open Monday-Friday from 8:00am-5:00pm and is closed daily from 12:00pm-1:00pm. The Tennis and Pickleball Center is located at 3900 Lampson Avenue and is open Monday-Friday from 12:00pm-9:00pm and weekends from 12:00pm-5:00pm. Visit these locations during the entire month of July to pick up a packet of Sunflower seeds. Care instructions are going to be provided.
