Scene and Seen: Laura’s House Annual Gala

The theme “Symphony of Dreams–Orchestrating Hope” proved to be appropriate for this year’s annual gala benefiting Laura’s House, which has been assisting the victims of domestic violence with emergency shelter, legal advocacy, therapy, prevention education, and more, for more than 30 years. For starters, an anonymous donor pledged $1,000 to help raise awareness about domestic abuse against men. The 270 guests who attended the soiree, held at the Hyatt Regency in Irvine, heard inspiring stories from survivors who sought help from the nonprofit and benefited from its life-changing programs. The group took time to honor an important partner in the cause—the In-N-Out Burger Foundation—for its “unwavering commitment” to supporting children who have experienced abuse, neglect, and domestic violence. And by the end of the evening, more than $790,000 had been raised to ensure the work of Laura’s House continues for years to come.
