A live art demonstration at sunset by Rancho San Joaquin Middle School eighth-grader Madison Weinberg kicked off the night of celebration spotlighting the extraordinary achievements of Irvine public school students and alumni.
Held at VEA Newport Beach, the event drew a guest list of more than 300 business leaders and supporters of public education. It also raised more than $1.3 million to benefit the district’s 38,000-plus students.
“The Spirit of Excellence Gala is a celebration of what is possible when a community comes together to support education,” said Neda Eaton, president and CEO of the foundation. “Tonight, we honored extraordinary alumni who inspire our students to dream big, and we raised critical resources that help fuel innovation in every classroom.”
