Saturday’s final scores and highlights: Tustin, Mater Dei and JSerra capture victories

Tustin 56, Pacifica 27: The Tillers (18-8, 5-3) won a Saturday afternoon Empire League game. Josh Birket had 21 points and Eli Nyeazi 13 points and eight rebounds to lead Tustin. Pacifica (12-14, 2-6) was led by Noah Salas, who had eight points.

Mater Dei 96, St. Mary’s 69: The Monarchs (20-6) won one of the evening games at the Nike Extravaganza XXVIII at Mater Dei Saturday night. Luke Barnett had 24 points and eight 3-pointers, Scotty Belnap scored 17 points, Zack Davidson had 12 points and 10 rebounds, Brannon Martinsen had 11 points and seven rebounds and Owen Verna had eight points and five assists for Mater Dei.

Mater Dei held a 55-26 halftime lead.

JSerra 61, Crean Lutheran 56 (OT): The Lions (18-8 overall) captured their second straight big win over the weekend with a victory at the Nike Extravaganza. Sebastian Rancik scored 29 points and Diego Martinez 14 to lead JSerra, which knocked off St. John Bosco 58-53 in a Trinity League game Friday night.

Crean Lutheran (18-7) was led by Kaiden Bailey, who scored 23 points and grabbed five rebounds. Dylan Gomez scored 11 points and had three rebounds and three assists and Braeden Davidson had nine points and six rebounds.

Crean Lutheran hosts Cypress Monday at 6:15 p.m. in an Empire League game.

Coronado 59, Foothill 49: The Knights (23-4) dropped their second game in a row, losing an afternoon contest at the Nike Extravaganza. Jordan Martin scored 13 points, Isaiah Bernard scored 10 points and grabbed six rebounds, Travis Paleo had eight points and Danny Kennard had seven points and 10 rebounds for Foothill. Coronado is the No. 5-ranked team from Nevada.
