SAPD police officers seized guns from a guy playing peekaboo and a vehicle stop suspect

While conducting proactive enforcement at the 800 block of N. Van Ness, police officers noticed a suspect attempting to hide near a parked vehicle as they drove by, according to the SAPD.

When the officers approached the suspect he fled on foot.

Following a brief pursuit the officers were able to safely detain him.

A search of his person revealed a loaded P80 9mm handgun.

The suspect was booked at the Santa Ana CIty Jail on weapons-related charges.

SAPD patrol officers conducted a vehicle stop involving an individual linked to illegal businesses in the area.

During the stop the suspect admitted to the officers that he had two guns.

A subsequent search of the vehicle confirmed that he was illegally in possession of the firearms.

The suspect was arrested and booked at the Santa Ana City Jail.
