SANTA MARGARITA 12, SERVITE 0: The Eagles (9-2, 6-1) captured the opener of a Trinity League series Thursday. Colin Clarke pitched the first six innings, striking out four to notch the win. Blake Balsz was 3 for 3 with a double, Logan DeGroot was 1 for 2 with two RBI, Drew Rutter was 2 for 3 with four RBI and Zach Fjelstad was 1 for 3 with two RBI to lead Santa Margarita offensively.
EL DORADO 3, VILLA PARK 2: Jack Fishel pitched the first four innings, striking out four to get the Crestview League win. Nick Sandstedt pitched three innings striking out four to earn the save for El Dorado (8-5, 2-0).
EL MODENA 2, FOOTHILL 0: The Vanguards (9-3, 1-1) recorded a Crestview League victory. Senior Alex Mascaro led the Vanguards. He pitched a one-hit complete game and struck out nine and also had a two-run single in the bottom of the seventh to put El Modena ahead. Logan Honikel was 2 for 3 with a run scored and a stolen base, Drew Rodriguez was 1 for 2 with a double and Lukas Alvarado was 1 for 3 with a run scored.
Andrew Harbour pitched well for Foothill (6-5, 0-2). He allowed two earned runs and striking out 10.
El Modena meets Villa Park Friday at 3:15 p.m. at El Modena.
WOOBRIDGE 4, LAGUNA HILLS 1: The Pacific Coast League leading Warriors (12-2, 10-1) captured a league win on the road Thursday. Matthew Kuromoto, coming off a no-hitter last weekend, got the win, improving his record to 5-1. He pitched six innings allowing five hits and striking out eight. Justin Durby came on to pitch a scoreless seventh to notch the save, striking out one. Chase Quezada was 1 for 2 with two runs scored and a walk and Jake Amundson was 1 for 4 with a double and two RBI.
