It’s been a productive spring and summer for Santa Ana Valley High School’s football team which continues preparations for its season opener against Ocean View.
“We started our summer football camp in June, and it was a smooth transition for our guys since the team had already been working hard during the spring,” said Falcons Coach Alfredo Macias. “Although we have seen tremendous growth from our guys during the spring and summer, there is still plenty for us to improve on if we want to be a team playing in November.
“Our team will wrap up July with a few more seven on seven games as we continue to increase the level of competition. We have confidence in both our offensive and defensive units to make huge strides this year.”
A number of players will lead the way for Santa Ana Valley.
“On the offensive side of the ball, we will lean on Ivan Reyes, Enrique Banda, Tom Guzman, Mario Trujillo, Kevin Andrade and Juan Vargas to lead the charge,” Macias said. “Defensively we are expecting major production from several key players such as Juan Prado, Gio Arroyo, Bryan Solis, Bruce Sanchez, Luis Salgado and Luis Villanueva.”
Santa Ana Valley was 2-8 overall and 1-4 in the Orange League last season.
