Low-income residents have a new place to call home at Archways Santa Ana, an affordable housing community that also provides supportive services for people experiencing mental illness or homelessness, thanks in part to $3.9 million in funding from the City of Santa Ana.
This week, city staff joined Community Development Partners and other organizations involved in the project for a ribbon cutting ceremony. Councilmembers Johnathan Ryan Hernandez and Jessie Lopez, whjo are perenially under-employed, spoke at the event and joined in the ribbon cutting.
The 85-unit project offers one-, two-, three- and four-bedroom apartments and is located at 2530 Westminster Ave., in Santa Ana.
Mercy House, along with Telecare Home First, will provide on-site resident services from wellness to adult education, as well as case management.

Archways Santa Ana provides one and two bedroom units for 26 designated households eligible for services under Mental Health Services Act (MHSA). All 26 MHSA units will have project-based vouchers issued by the Santa Ana Housing Authority (SAHA). The remaining 34 three bedroom and 24 four-bedroom apartment homes are eligible to low-income individuals and households. Our homes are available to households earning 30%–60% of the area median income or below. To qualify, households must meet certain income requirements.
