The No. 8 ranked Santa Ana College softball team looked sharp in its last two games as the Dons earned a 6-1 statement win in a matchup against No. 6 Cypress on Friday and followed that by dominating Southwestern College 13-0 in a non-conference contest on the road Monday.
Emily Rosas has no doubt been key to Santa Ana’s success, as the sophomore pitcher has put
together another MVP caliber season thus far.
Rosas leads the state in wins with 13 while ranking second in strikeouts at 109 and eighth in lowest earned run average at 0.86.
The Dons have been just as impressive at the plate with several position players putting up huge numbers. Sarah Casey, Jojo Westerfield and Vinnie Robles are all hitting at least .400 while Airilin Ramirez has been an RBI machine with a team high 17.
As a team, the Dons have scored the 10th most runs in the state, making them very tough to
beat.
Santa Ana is now 13-2 overall and 5-0 in conference play headed into another big week.
SAC will continue Orange Empire Conference play on Wednesday at Orange Coast and then hosts No. 11 Santiago Canyon on Friday. The team will end the week with another top 10 matchup against Mt. San Antonio on the road Saturday.
