Santa Ana College football team rolls past Victor Valley for fifth victory in a row

Quarterback Dallen Engemann led the Santa Ana College football team to a 53-6 victory over Victor Valley (0-6, 0-1) in its first American Metro League game of the season. 

It was the Dons’ fifth victory in a row and a season high in points.

Engemann, a sophomore quarterback, completed 19 of 31 passes for 320 yards and four touchdowns for the Dons (5-1, 1-0). 

James Farmer caught five passes for a season high 178 yards and two touchdowns. 

Cannon King went over the 100-yard mark for the second time this season while recording eight receptions and a touchdown and Malachi Pierce caught his eighth touchdown, putting him at third most in the state, while grabbing four passes for 25 yards. 

SAC was also effective in the run game with five running backs combining for 197 yards. 

Jackson Smith led the team in rushing with 51 yards on 10 attempts while Owen Smith (two) and Diego Soria (one)_accounted for the three touchdowns.

Defensively, the Dons held the Rams to just six points and 167 yards of offense.

Freshman defensive back Dudley Mesilien picked up two interceptions and made four solo tackles with one pass breakup.

Sophomores Gabriel Magana and Blaze Iglesias had six tackles each to help lead the Don defense. 

Santa Ana College hosts Compton College Saturday at 6 p.m. at Santa Ana Stadium.
