It will be the 25th anniversary of the Ryan Lemmon Senior Baseball Showcase Friday and Saturday with a total of five games at Ryan Lemmon Stadium in Irvine, according to tournament director Dick Owens, who runs the event along with Guy Lemmon.
Lemmon is the president of the Ryan Lemmon Foundation.
Like last year, the games will be held the same weekend as the CIF baseball finals and players from some of the leagues who are in the finals won’t be able to take part in the games. Owens said next weekend is the only weekend the event can be held, with the Memorial Day weekend the following weekend along with numerous high school graduations planned.
Owens said the Orange Coast League has been added to the showcase and that the South Coast League and Sea View League have been combined into one squad.
The event was started by Guy Lemmon, president of the foundation and Owens in honor of Ryan Lemmon.
