Roger Goodell says Taylor Swift a ‘maybe’ for SB LX halftime show

We can’t shake off rumors that Taylor Swift will headline the Super Bowl LX halftime show, and NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell isn’t helping.

On Wednesday morning, Goodell appeared on NBC’s “Today” and got Swifties in a frenzy after he was asked by Savannah Guthrie if the singer had been invited to perform for the big show.

“We would always love to have Taylor play,” Goodell said. “She is a special, special talent, and obviously she would be welcome at any time.”

“Is it in the works?” Guthrie asked.

“I can’t tell you anything about it,” Goodell replied.

“Is it a maybe?” the co-anchor asked, trying to pry for more information.

“It’s a maybe,” he said.

He then put the blame all on Jay-Z. The hip-hop mogul’s Roc Nation oversees the Apple Music Super Bowl LX Halftime Show.

“I’m waiting on my friend Jay-Z,” he joked. “It’s in his hands. I’m waiting for the smoke to come out.”

Known for her Easter eggs, fans believe Swift dropped hints about a possible Super Bowl performance during her appearance on her now fiancé’s “New Heights” podcast weeks ago.

During the episode, she mentioned how she’s been spending her time, post-Eras Tour, making sourdough bread. Fans believe that was a major hint. They noted that the mascot of the San Francisco 49ers is Sourdough Sam, and Super Bow LX is taking place at Levi’s Stadium, which is the home of the team.

Swift then said she’s “really talking about bread 60% of the time now.” Swifties noted that the upcoming Super Bowl is the event’s 60th anniversary.

To take it even further, at the beginning of the podcast, Swift noted that Jason Kelce’s introduction to her was “47 seconds.” Levi’s Stadium was the 47th stop on her Eras Tour.

While it’s yet to be announced, fans are convinced they’re on to something.

In the meantime, Super Bowl LX is set for Feb. 8 at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.
