Micah Manalese, a 30-year-old rock climber, died recently after falling at Red Rocks Canyon in Nevada.
According to a GoFundMe page, Manalese would frequently train at Sender One Climbing in Santa Ana, California, where she was well known in the Southern California rock climbing community.
The Las Vegas Police received a call about a climber who fell along the Community Pillar climbing route at Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area at around 5:30 p.m. local time on Saturday, Jan. 18, according to People Magazine.
The department’s search and rescue team was already assisting a group of stuck climbers when the second call came in, ABC affiliate KNTV and NBC affiliate KSNV reported.
Manalese’s climbing partner was not injured.
Manalese’s death was ruled an accident.
Melanese wrote in her last Facebook post “I have been outside climbing since 2014 but in the past 4 years it’s been on the back-burner. I love sport climbing and it was special for me to reignite this passion for myself this year. Thank for all the belays and moments I got to spend outside. I am hungry for more.”

Rock climbing was her absolute favorite activity to do. Strong and ambitious, Micah had been climbing since 2014. She would frequently train at Sender One in Santa Ana, CA and was a part of the rock climbing community in Southern California. With the training, she somehow managed to squeezed in time with her family and friends. She could do it all. She was unstoppable.
