The City of Irvine has partnered with South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) to assist Irvine residents transition to zero-emission lawn and garden equipment. Residential lawn and garden equipment rebates are now available for Irvine residents. Each household can receive up to three rebates over the lifetime of the program, but only for different pieces of equipment. Rebate cannot exceed the purchase price of the equipment (excluding taxes and delivery).

Funding for Irvine Residents
- The City of Irvine will fund the first two rebates.
- The South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) will fund the third rebate.
- Each rebate is up to $250 per piece of equipment.
Eligible Equipment
- Lawn mowers
- Trimmers (string)
- Leaf blowers
- Chainsaws
Equipment Requirements
- Must be battery-powered (no plug-ins)
- Must be NEW (discounted battery-powered equipment is eligible if it is still new)
Recycling Requirement
- Residents must recycle their gas lawn equipment by taking it to a certified scrapper or dismantler on the approved AQMD list, prior to applying for the rebate.
- There are currently four approved dismantlers in Orange County:
