This week, U.S. Representative Young Kim (CA-39) received the 2022 Hero of Main Street Award from the National Retail Federation (NRF) for her leadership and work to support local retailers and help entrepreneurs create jobs in their communities.
“Small businesses are our nation’s top job creators and are vital to strengthening our local economies. Entrepreneurs and retailers need our support more than ever as they face record-high inflation, supply chain backlogs and labor shortages,” said Kim. “I’m grateful to NRF for the 2022 Hero of Main Street award. As a small business owner and as Ranking Member of the Small Business Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Workforce Development Subcommittee, I’m proud to support our local retailers and remain committed to supporting policies that will uplift small businesses.”
“Small and local businesses are the cornerstone for job growth and opportunity in communities across the country,” NRF President and CEO Matthew Shay said. “It is an honor to recognize Congresswoman Kim and the 2022 ‘Heroes of Main Street’ for their commitment to supporting policies and programs that ensure the economic health and viability of the retail industry.”
